As a foster volunteer for Ewenity Farm Herding Dog Haven (hereinafter, “EFHDH”), I agree to respect the privacy and confidentiality of applicants, surrendering parties and other volunteers and organizations with whom EFHDH conducts its business.
I further agree:
I will take all due care to protect myself from bodily harm, as well as others who may come in contact with the foster dog. *
I will indemnify and hold harmless EFHDH from damage to property or harm to persons or other dogs caused by any EFHDH rescue dog in my foster care. *
When fostering, I agree to care for and provide wholesome food and shelter to the EFHDH rescue dog for a limited period of time. I understand that I am accepting the EFHDH rescue dog(s) until a new home(s) can be found. *
EFHDH agrees to pay for all necessary veterinarian procedures. I agree to obtain prior approval for ALL vet care from EFHDH, except for life-and-death emergency situations. EFHDH will also pay for routine medications, such as flea and heartworm preventatives, provided that I use EFHDH-approved medications. *
I will communicate with EFHDH on a reasonably frequent basis (e.g., weekly). I agree to provide current information about my foster dog, especially regarding medical information, and information helpful to the adoption process, including pictures. *
I agree that EFHDH is responsible for final decisions regarding adoption and non-routine vet care, and I agree to consult with EFHDH for veterinary advice. I agree to contact EFHDH immediately should any problems arise. *
I agree that I am only fostering this dog for EFHDH, and that I do not have any right of ownership over the foster dog. I further agree that EFHDH’s rights in and to the foster dog supersede mine. I also agree to provide the Rescue Representative, or his/her designate, access to my home and property to check on the welfare of my foster dog, at any time that I am in possession of the foster dog. *
I agree to immediately return any foster dog in my care to EFHDH, at the request of the authorized Rescue Representative, or his/her designate, at any time and for any reason. If EFHDH is forced to undertake any action to enforce this provision of the agreement, I agree to indemnify EFHDH for all court costs and attorneys’ fees connected with such an action. *
If I plan to move at any time while fostering an EFHDH rescued dog, I agree to contact EFHDH at least two weeks prior to my move, with the new address. I understand that EFHDH has the right to request return of my foster dog based on such a change of residence and agree that I will surrender my foster dog to EFHDH immediately upon request. *
I understand that because the provisions of this agreement are legally binding, any violation of this agreement could result in legal liabilities for me. I understand that, as long as I provide foster care to the foster dog to EFHDH’s satisfaction, I will be given the first right to the adoption of my foster dog, at such time as EFHDH decides to offer my foster dog for adoption. *
If at any point I can no longer, or do not wish to continue to, provide care, food, and in the home shelter for my foster dog, I agree to contact the authorized Rescue Representative or his/her designate, and arrange for surrender and return of my foster dog to EFHDH. I further agree that I will provide 14 days’ notice in order to arrange for a new foster or placement. *
I will not transfer possession or custody of the foster dog to any other person at any time, except for temporary, short-term possession for the purpose of vet care, grooming, etc. *
I agree to contact the authorized Rescue Representative with any and all questions or concerns about my foster dog or the fostering program, as well as with updated contact information. I also agree to contact the authorized Rescue Representative with monthly reports on the health status of my foster dog.

I agree that if I refuse to comply with any provision of this agreement, the EFHDH has the right to terminate this agreement and also has the right to the immediate surrender and return of any EFHDH foster dog(s) to EFHDH. I further consent to provide the rescue with access to my premises, if necessary, to facilitate any return.
