My name is Daisy. I am a senior German Shepherd mix (the shelter I came from said around 9) I have been living with my foster family for 2 months now. When I first came to live with them I was very shy and reserved. My foster mom says I am like a new dog now. I am older and have very bad hips and knees, so I do not go very fast and prefer to lie down next to you. I have found my voice, and I am not afraid to use it. I like to bark at cats and other dogs when they walk past my house. I also bark when someone knocks on the door....I am protective of my home. I am easily quieted with a soft touch or saying my name. I am house trained and will stay in a crate if I need to be. Luckily they have let me have free roam of the house after I got used to my new food. I walk very well on a leash and never pull. I am very smart and I know how to sit (sometimes it hurts my hips too much though) and I also shake. I am very good with other dogs and kids and I am learning about cats very slowly. My favorite thing is a giant bone filled with peanut butter and treats. I would love to find my furever home soon. I have lots of love to give and would be perfect for an older family or one just looking for the perfect companion. Daisy is being fostered in the Jacksonville area. She is on supplements for her arthritis and she is doing well, playing and loving her walks!! This gal is perfectly good medical health outside of that pesky arthritis and would make a great loving companion for a retired couple or a not so active family!!
