James is a 10 yr old smooth collie mix pulled from a high kill Ga. shelter, where he had NO chance of adoption and the clock was just ticking away. We saw his sad picture and decided he just had to have a taste of good life before he leaves the planet! When James first got here, he developed pneumonia right away and spent almost a week at the vets. He is now healed healthy and ready for his forever home!!! He is a very quiet, unassuming boy. He does not play with other dogs, but gets along well with them, all 11! He will play ball or with toys by himself but he knows he is no match for a youngster so he doesnt even try. He loves to rub his face along your legs, and loves to be petted. He enjoys brushing out his fur, but does NOT care for nail trims at all. He is housebroken and will bark to go in or out. He barks in a series of 3, not more or less its always the same tone!! Medically, he has some arthritis, but gets up and down steps just fine. He has cataracts and still has sight, may be losing his hearing OR it may be selective. He is low energy and I have not seen him run at all!! Mostly he follows me around the house, loves to be petted, and will go out and just lay down under a shade tree. Very care free boy. He will make an excellent companion for someone that just wants a buddy to love on. He has exhibited no bad habits except nosing you for MORE petting!! If you can give this sweet senior a secure and loving place to live, he will thank you with endless companionship and nonjudgmental friendship. Long walks, a little ball here and there, a soft bed and good food are all that he really needs. James has been cleared medically, he is heartworm negative, utd on shots, already neutered and ready for his new home!!! James is in Bradenton, Fl. His adoption fee is $150. update 9/9/11 James is doing great!! He is playing with the other dogs and enjoys a lot of time outdoors. He is just a great low key easy keeper! Please wont someone find it in their hearts to give James the home of a lifetime???? He is ready willing and able!!!!
