Razzy is a four-year-old, 37-lb, border collie currently being fostered in Palm City, FL (Martin County). Razzy was one of twelve dogs from the same home recently surrendered to the shelter. She was the only one who was not adopted because she totally shut down in the shelter. She has been in foster, but it took her longer than normal to decompress. She will need an adopter who understands that she may need a longer adjustment period. Since she has been with her foster, we have learned that she loves to run and play. She also really enjoys being with her human! She is used to living with other border collies, and she would do best in a home with a large, fenced yard and a companion dog. Razzy can’t help herself from herding, so she should probably avoid small dogs, cats and dog parks. Razzy is a working dog and could have an excellent career as a therapy dog or agility and fly ball. She really wants to do more than just go for long walks! Razzy knows basic commands including sit, lie down, and come when called. She also loads nicely in a crate to travel. She would benefit from additional training, particularly to work on her leash skills. Razzy is spayed and up to date on vaccines. She is a well bred, show quality dog.
