Did someone say tricks for treats? Meet Abilene, or Abi, an approximately 4-year-old, 44 lb blue heeler mix currently being fostered in Miami, FL (Miami-Dade County). Also known as “the sweetest dog alive,” this girl loves to play fetch, cuddle, go on walks, and definitely do tricks for treats! She enjoys being with her humans and snuggling up with her favorite person; although, she can be jealous of other dogs getting attention. With strong leadership, she recognizes that she cannot do that. The only thing she loves more than her people? Food. And more food! She can sometimes be a little food possessive. But she also enjoys playing with squeaky toys, chewing on bones, and hunting, whether it’s squirrels, birds, geckos, and cats (she is not good with cats!). Abi is a fast learner and knows how to sit, down, stay, wait, play dead, and respond to a whistle (recall). She would benefit from additional training to help her with her leash skills as well as barking at strangers and other dogs. Abi is spayed, heartworm negative, and up-to-date on vaccines. She is house trained and crated trained, and she requires a home with a fenced in yard.
