Zinc is a 4 year old, 35 lbs. Blue Heeler.  He has been with his family since he’s been 8 weeks old. He has always been an inside dog but loves getting to be outside so someone with room for him to run would be most ideal. He is extremely smart and learns so quickly. He is crate trained and house trained. His absolute favorite thing is to fetch his tennis ball. His owners now have young children and he is very obviously scared of them and gets extremely stressed around them. He has resorted to obsessively licking his right paw causing him to have a sore (the vet says there isn’t much we can do except try to keep him from stressing). He typically resorts to just hanging out in his kennel when the young child is around him. He is not a "yappy" dog but he does bark when someone knocks on the door, pulls up in the driveway or he hears someone talking outside that he doesn't expect. Zinc does well with other dogs and even cats. Zinc is a tad "nervous" around new people but once he gets some rubs he becomes best friends.  He also loves going anywhere in the car (especially tractor supply to pick out his own toy). Though he is naturally hyper he also likes to have his calm/quiet time where he just likes to lay around the house (he prefers in front of a glass door or window to have some warm sun on him) to take long naps. Zinc is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and is heartworm negative.
