Callie is a 2 year-old, 22 lb. Border Collie mix who was adopted and then returned to rescue. Callie came into rescue in February and lived in a foster home for several months. Callie did well in her foster home. She was a bit aloof but this can be typical border collie when they haven't built up a loving and trusting relationship yet with their handler.  Her foster worked with her and Callie was adjusting well. She was adopted back in June. Callie now needs a family that is committed to her and bringing in a behaviorist/trainer  to work with her. Callie is energetic and needs an active family that can give her a job. She is scared of loud sounds such as the vacuum and loud trucks outside. Callie runs under the bed when it's walk time and doesn't want to go out for this. She also needs to be desensitized to strangers. When someone she doesn't know enters the house, she barks. Callie is playful with other dogs but can sometimes be a bit much for them due to her energy. She will chase cats indoors so no cats for her.  Callie is a lovely dog but needs someone who understands this breed and understands that it will take time, patience, effort and love to make her the dog she can be.  She will need time to decompress in your home.  Callie is healthy, fully vaccinated, spayed, heartworm negative, microchipped. She’s also crate-trained and potty trained.
