Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed (medium coat) : : Female (spayed) : : Adult : : Medium
Callie is fostered in Fernandina Beach, FL (Nassau County). We are a foster-based rescue and always looking for foster families! Callie is a loving, smart, beautiful young Australian Cattle Dog mix. She's on the reserved side but is a wonderful companion - rides great in the car, has near-perfect leash manners and is a fabulous office dog. She likes to explore in the yard, chases a ball, plays respectfully with her canine buddies and is on the lower energy side. She's cuddly and will lay next to you on the couch but not clingy. She's a bit cautious of new situations at first but curious about the world around her. Callie is house-trained, crate-trained and very quiet. About 2 years old, she was picked up as a stray in Alabama and probably didn't have an easy early life, but that's changed now and she's flourished in her foster home. She's spayed, micro-chipped, up-to-date on shots, weighs about 35lbs. and has a beautiful soft speckled coat and amber eyes. Callie would be a great match for a mellow person or family looking for a sweet, semi-active companion for walking, visiting or just hanging out. She would do best with another calm packmate, would benefit from more socialization and training, and will make a great all-round pet as she continues to gain confidence. Although untested with cats we believe she would do fine if properly introduced, as her favorite playmate is a small dog. Callie is a friendly, intelligent, endearing girl who wins over everyone she meets with her gentle and affectionate disposition. She is fostered in the Jacksonville area (Fernandina Beach) and her adoption donation is $300.
