Nutmeg is currently fostered in Tampa, FL (Hillsborough County). We are a foster-based rescue and always looking for foster families!

Nutmeg is a year-old, 25-lb girly who is about done growing. She is a cute little Australian cattle dog mix - DNA was just done on one of her siblings and there are equal parts rat terrier and Boston terrier in there with the cattle dog. She would make a nice pet for an active family. She is currently fostered with two other larger dogs whom she is submissive to, and also leaves the cats and chickens in the home alone. Her foster says she would be fine with kids as well. She does not have much toy or prey drive, but does like to hoard and chew on toys. She is very affectionate and being petted is her favorite! She sleeps nicely through the night in her crate, and now happily goes in the crate for a treat. She is also working on learning commands and is becoming more food-motivated. Her family will need to commit to taking her to classes. She is very biddable with great attention and will be very easy to train. She is already doing great on a leash and paying attention to her handler. She is fully housebroken. Nutmeg is spayed, up-to-date on preventives and vaccines, microchipped and heartworm negative, and ready to go to her forever family!
