Nikki is fostered in Celebration, FL (Osceola County). We are a foster-based rescue and always looking for foster families! Nikki is a purebred, papered border collie, DOB 12/23/16. She weighs 35 lbs and is likely close to fully grown. She was uprooted from her original family by no fault of her own, and is slowly transitioning in her new foster home. She will require a patient adopter who can give her 1-2 weeks of decompression time upon arrival. She will be a timid, shy flight risk during this transition period and needs to be kept double leashed at all times with a harness and martingale collar. She will require a secure, fenced yard. She blossoms into a sweet and cuddly girl once she settles in. Nikki is an extremely active young herding dog with a lot of drive. She loves to play ball and go for walks. We recommend no young children (10+ only) and perhaps one other active dog for her household, as she will herd, herd, herd. She does show signs of resource guarding against other dogs and will guard humans, toys and food, which we are working on. She shares a water bowl and we think with time and confidence building she will improve. She would do best in a performance, working or extremely active pet home. Nikki is spayed, up-to-date on vaccines and preventives, microchipped and heartworm negative. More about NikkiGood with Dogs, Is Not Good with Kids, Plays fetch
