We are a foster-based rescue and always looking for fosters! Homer is currently fostered in Bradenton, FL (Manatee County).

Hi, my name is Homer, a.k.a. Homie, Homeskillet or Homeslice! I have been living in foster homes now since I was only 3 months old, and I'm closing in on 11 months old now. I am tall and skinny - 32 pounds. They say I may be part cattle dog and whippet, whatever that means! I don't herd, though I do love to run, jump and play!

My foster mom tells me she just doesn't understand why I haven't been adopted, as I am the sweetest boy! I can be timid around loud noises and men in uniforms, but I love going out on the town and meeting strangers. I have gone through basic obedience class and I know my basic commands and to come when called. I am working on leash walking and admittedly I do need some work, but I am eager to please and learn! I just get worked up outdoors and forget to be the awesome leash walker I am in my indoor obedience class.

My favorite activities are playing Frisbee, chasing lizards, running zoomies with my foster siblings, and cuddling on the couch. My least favorite thing is being alone - I really need to be with another dog, or I get scared. Having a person around is a plus too, but I am fine crated as long as there is another dog in a crate nearby! I know not to go potty in the house too, and I ride well in a car. I definitely need a fenced yard to run in, privacy fence 6' or above really.

My foster mom says I'm smart. I am still a puppy and really would do best living with a dog of similar age and energy level who I can run around with in a fenced yard. I have a great nose and would be a good candidate for nose work and other dog sports. Maybe even flyball one day! Lure coursing will also be so much fun for me once the weather cools down. Running and biking will be great activities to burn some energy off. I already love to go hiking with my foster family. I have been so well cared for, and kept on the best food, preventives and supplements.

I am all up-to-date with the vet and ready to go! If you think you could be my new best friend, please get in touch with my foster family by submitting an inquiry or an application at ewenityfarmsbch.com. Love, Homer.
